It must be summer, because the Vegan Pop-Ups have returned all over San Diego County. Our family loves attending these events and we go to the one in Vista held at Local Roots Boochyard every 4th Friday. The food is delicious. As popularity for this event has grown, the food trucks are trying to keep up. Unless you get there early, you will be waiting a bit for your food. But you can have some delicious kombucha and listen to live music while you wait! Very dog and kid friendly. 

Cruisin' Grand happens every Friday in the summer. It is a wonderful family event where antique car club members, proud owners, low rider cruisers, DIY mechanics, admirers, people watchers, and those of us who fantasize about owning a vintage auto (1979 Trans Am in gold and black with the bird on the hood) flock to downtown Escondido to ohh and ahh over beautiful cars. The atmosphere is festive and many autos have their hoods popped so you can see the engines. Owners are happy to talk about their babies and some are even for sale! Sadly, not the 1979 Trans Am I want. 

Patio Playhouse is a volunteer-run community theater in Escondido that puts on amazing productions all year long. Their productions in the summer are in an outdoor amphitheater at Kit Carson Park and are fun for the family. The also have weekly FREE improv classes for adults and children. Their Board is passionate about making art accessible and artistic integrity. They also host camps. 

Mesa Rim climbing gym is a family friendly place where climbers of all skill levels and ages can rock climb or belay. They have lessons, camps, and yoga but you can also pay to use the facility one-off times. Shoes can be rented. Kids love it here and it's a great work out.
